Hannah Marie's Arrival - Day 1

Today was the kickoff of your arrival week. Yesterday's visit to the doctor resulted in a day of bed rest and the end of mommy's time at work. Today's visit to the doctor ended with a trip down the hall for her to be admitted to the hospital. Her blood pressure was a little high and her feet were really swollen. The doctor wanted to keep a close eye on her blood pressure and wanted to take a look at some labs. If things weren't looking up in a few hours, the doctor was ready for you to show up early.

Here is a picture of Mommy in her lovely hospital gown in the luxurious delivery room where we waited out the first few hours. The room was only slightly smaller than our first apartment.

The doctor arrived around noon to let Mommy know that everything was looking much better and that you would be delivered on schedule on Thursday. Our friend Kathy came by to visit for a few minutes after Mommy inhaled a much needed late lunch and we moved to an antepartum room to stay for the next two nights.

Mimi stopped by for a visit before dinner to deliver some snacks.

Dinner was pretty good when you consider all of the bad things you hear about hospital food. Mommy had lasagna and I had some really tasty beef stroganoff from the cafeteria. We took a walk down the hall to check out the rest of the maternity floor and see if there were any babies in the nursery. We're both tired from a very early wake up time today, so we'll probably go to bed soon to get rested up for a long day of waiting tomorrow. It's a little hard to believe that our little twosome will be a merry band of three musketeers in a little more than 36 hours.
